Correlation analysis of the interdependence between identified risk factors of ischemic heart disease and vitamin d levels
Abstract
Objective. To assess the relationship between vitamin D levels and risk factors for IHD;
Materials and methods. A total of 70 patients with IHD risk factors were examined and divided into groups with normal (n = 29) and deficient (n = 41) vitamin D levels. A correlation analysis of cardiovascular parameters was conducted;
Results. A negative correlation was found between vitamin D levels and total cholesterol and LDL. In the control group, a correlation with diabetes mellitus was observed. No significant correlations were found in the vitamin D deficiency group;
Conclusion. Vitamin D may influence lipid metabolism and IHD risk factors, but this relationship is variable and requires further research.
